Personal Structures - Carole A. Feuerman

For those who are genuinely convinced that reality is boring RS introduces a fantastically talented sculptor Carole Feuerman whose women not only perfectly simulate real world emotions but also cause car accidents in New York. And even if you think that they are too flawless and their perfect bodies look like an apple skin covered in wax then you just need to buy a ticket either to New York or to Venice to discover liveliness of their wrinkles, ridges, freckles and rebellious curls. Feuerman’s ladies are even owned by Mikhail Gorbachev.

Unforgettable Jan Fabre

Even though contemporary art can offer us a hell of new techniques and forms we still can’t take our eyes from the paintings of old masters. Their masterpieces are awash with nostalgic memories stored in each brush stroke, layer of paint and shadow of color. Their emotional intensity and sincerity hypnotize and inspire. Many of the old masters mixed blood into their paint, crushed human bones to make white paint and made enormous efforts to get a sky blue color. Many of them painted instinctively. Natural emotions just can’t be imitated by synthetics, technology and new media as only strong feelings can provoke this magical and sometimes even demonic magnetism that captures our hearts today.

Jan Fabre has explored this phenomenon even further. The Flemish artist who would paint with his own blood in 80s presents his experiment with raw materials here in Venice. The strong and fragile at the same time, bone and glass, will constitute a new body of art. Don’t miss JAN FABRE. GLASS AND BONE SCULPTURES 1977–2017. Collateral event of the 57th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Abbazia di San Gregorio in Venice.

Dreaming of Joseph Klibansky in Venice

How much we adore a tradition of sending postcards! It’s such an intimate and exciting experience of choosing the best image of your feelings and memories of a particular place. Azure Venice, champagne beige Paris or peach colored Rome… what is the color of your favorite city? Our gaze is apparently influenced by our phones, tv and computer screens. But perception is much more than just a quick look. It’s a relationship between the self and the city, its people, smell, atmosphere. If the melody of your mood is perfectly in tune with the city’s vibes you will definitely become a part of its symphony. A progressive Amsterdam-based artist Joseph Klibansky has been exploring this contradiction between essence and perception by creating universal postcard cities which could be sent from any location. A marshmallow prototype of a dream is what we normally share with our dearest for a quick look or a deep dive into blue sky thinking 💭 Don’t miss Joseph’s exhibition in Venice at Palazzo Lezze in Campo Santo Stefano, San Marco

You're one in a mirror

“Stay! Let me at least gaze upon you, if I may not touch you.” Narcissus disturbes his own image.
Now look in the mirror – would you chase your reflection? How far can you go?
Leave behind the routine and trust your instinct, one step and you are immersing into the art world created by Aaron Nachtailer. This hidden gem is an artspace where you freely unfollow your daily life for a couple of golden minutes in the center of Venice.
You start a solo-journey alienating from the overcrowded city in the shadow of enamoured myth – you escape to discover, to think, to catch your inner voice. But watch your step – you are in the land of Echo, she waits with the impatience to guide you. She turns on the light in the hidden room, she blesses you with 2 minutes of silence in the aura of piece, pacification, imagination .. Don’t be afraid to face your thoughts, your emotional expression, your inner-self. Lights off! We know that Echo is only a myth. Welcome back to the reality.
Footstep beyond .. perhaps, you wish to gaze longer at the infinite series of your reflections?
Encontremonos – a piece of contemporary art world at Palazzo Marcello, Venice – come to disconnect from reality 13/05-25/08/2017
“This is one of the best we’ve seen during Biennale” – italian collectors, 83 and 88 y.o.

Let’s go to Cosmos and ride the stars

Dear Friends, we know how much you adore Star Wars, Alien and War of the Worlds. Let’s play George Orwell and navigate our spaceship back in future…
1984
USSR, Moscow, Arbat street
A young artist Gosha Ostretsov rebels against the herd instinct and collectivity behavior imposed by the communist ideology. Befriended by the hippies and non-conformists he leads a street art movement which is known for its oppositional context. Inspired by Egyptian frescoes and Russian icon-painting his alien to the Soviet system style has developed into the political dialogue symbolically transmitted by comics and costume-art performance.
2017
Italy. Venice. Palazzo Nani Bernardo.
A splendid baroque palace hosts a cosmic exposition of a top-ranked Russian artist, Gosha Ostretsov, whose artworks can be found in Charles Saatchi and Roman Abramovich’s collections. Here in Venice Gosha leads an army of supernatural artifacts that breaks forward and attacks statuesque baroque solemnity. They will invade the whole art space and mount a giant obelisk as a symbol of a new science that will reign from now on…Science Fiction 🚀🛰⚗️

A Perfect stranger (inspired by Cynthia Gutierrez)

The dialogue of nations – a truly conceptual artwork. But may a viewer allow himself to interpret it as a dialogue of strangers? Remember, perhaps you met a stranger once in your life, and then your paths never crossed again. And you still remember this stranger? We may sometimes be unconscious of the impact strangers may have on our future. Remember at least one mysterious meeting from your past.

A Mexican brightest star of contemporary art Cynthia Gutierrez will share more magnificent works with us at Biennale this year. We are sure you’ll be absorbed by your memories and thoughts. But don’t drown.
